Synopsis Redux

If you haven't already checked out my post on writing the synopsis over at our team blog, Adventures in Writing, stop by.

It's not the post that's so fascinating, it's the dialogue in the comments section that you might find interesting, even helpful. And, truthfully? I'm looking forward to whatever further thoughts or insights you might add.

When I was interning in college at a film production company I found I had a gift for synopsizing the MS I had to read. I just couldn't apply it to my own writing! It's gotten a little better now, I'm a little more certain.

@laura: you know, i've found this to be precisely true -- at least for me! Why is it so much easier to reduce someone else's work down to the singular gems that make it work?! I guess I get caught up in the subplots & nuances (of my own) that must be ignored for synopsis-sake! ;)
